We have had a fun and busy week for Book Week, sharing our ideas to make our own class ‘Polar’ version of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ as well as the children using text maps to use their own ideas and tell their own versions of the story. Hopefully you have seen them all telling theirs on Tapestry. We are continuing to work on the actual book of the Beech Class version and will share it with you when it’s complete.
In maths we have continued with measures but have been learning about height, using words like tall, taller, tallest and short, shorter, shortest to describe different things. We have also been measuring using cubes and comparing the heights by finding the difference between the tallest and shortest objects!
Everyone looked fabulous in their outfits on Thursday for World Book Day so a huge thank you to all the adults involved in making the children look so wonderful. It was a fab day and gave us all a chance to share our favourite book characters and learn about some we may not have known.
Forest School will resume Thursday afternoon – we will probably be ‘Going on a Bear Hunt’ after our guest appearance in the woods yesterday! 🙂
Next week is Science Week and the theme is Journeys. This may be everyday journeys on transport, through tunnels, time, or nature. We will be carrying out lots of exciting experiments and finding out about a lot of things, so get your thinking caps on and see if you can think of something you would like to find out about.
Have a lovely weekend. 🙂
