Well it’s the end of our first half term already and what a half term it has been! The children have settled in to school life brilliantly and we are really proud of how they have adapted to our new school routines in these strangest of times.
Today the children have brought home the bread rolls they made today. A fitting finale to our learning on The Little Red Hen. They were brilliant at recalling how we made them and remembering why the yeast is so important. I hope they enjoy eating them as much as they did making them. We certainly have some star bakers in the making! 🙂
In Phonics sessions they have learnt four more sounds and also another ‘tricky’ word. The sounds and two ‘tricky’ (red) words we have learnt so far have been added to their sound bags and their books have all been changed today. Please keep practicing reading the sounds and ‘tricky’ words over the half term break and don’t forget they can use their sound cards to make simple 2 or 3 sound words to practice their blending skills – e.g. at, it, on, pen, pet, net, pit, kit, can, tag, cat, dog, cup, run, pack, sack and many more!
Please note, after half term PE will be on FRIDAYS.
Have a wonderful, restful, half-term week. Remember you can always share things from home on Tapestry and if you have any queries about your child’s learning, or issues accessing Tapestry please contact me on the class email: beech@crowmoorschool.co.uk
Stay safe and we will see you on Monday 2nd November.
