So this week we have been practicing our Nativity ready to record next week. If you have not yet returned the permission slip could you please do so as soon as possible so filming can get underway. 😊
The children were also set a task by our class elf Ernie who introduced them to the worry monster and told them all about a friendly monster called Moz. He then asked them to write about Moz independently and they all did a super job – even with our very special visitor arriving just as we were finishing!
In maths we have been looking back at all we have learned this term and have been very impressed with how the children are recalling some number bonds and have shown how they can pay amounts up to 5p in different ways. Some have even worked on using number bonds to work out change with a little support.
The children all looked super today for Christmas Dinner day and we’ve had a very festive Friday making Christmas decorations and starting our cards.
Please remember to record in the children’s reading records each time they read a book as it is only changed after the second recorded read. We encourage re-reading to develop their fluency and comprehension. Don’t forget they also have access to Bug Club books online (login details in the back of their reading records). There are prompts in the back of all Bug Club books for questions you can ask to check their comprehension once they’ve read them. As always if you have any queries please email me on the class email.
Have a lovely weekend!
