The children have had a lovely week in Acorn Class. We have continued our work on Rumble in the Jungle which the children have thoroughly enjoyed. We have made our own story map for this big book and included lots of information about all the different animals in the story. The children have also had the chance to make animal masks, make play dough footprints and sing their own versions of the rhymes, they have done a fabulous job! In Maths, the children have been counting out different numbers of animals and then finding 1 more or 1 fewer. We have then been able to match the numeral to the amount of animals we have counted. Even though the weather hasn’t been quite as kind to us this week, we have still made the most of being outside and it has been great to see the seeds we planted a couple of weeks ago are now starting to grow. We have filled our vegetable patch with seed potatoes and beetroot and inside, we have planted sweet peas and courgette seeds. The children have loved watching their progress each day and we hope there will be a very colourful display in the summer months!
Next week, we are planning lots of lovely Springtime and Easter activities. Remember to get your entries in at the beginning of the week for the Easter Competitions. Have a lovely weekend!
