In English this week, we have continued developing our knowledge of the Titanic by writing a balanced argument for ‘who’s to blame for the Titanic sinking?’. The children have thoroughly enjoyed this topic, and it has been a delight to see them so engaged in a topic and using their historical knowledge.
In Maths, we have started our new unit on fractions. The children have been multiplying fractions by integers and calculating fractions of an amount. They have worked super hard after not originally understanding the concept, and are now confident in doing this, sometimes mentally!
During Geography this week, the children have investigated the different ways mountains are formed. We discussed the movement of the tectonic plates and what this can cause: a mountain, volcano or even an earthquake!
Our Golden Certificate Winner this week is Ethan! He has shown OUTSTANDING efforts this week. He has worked extremely hard to master finding fractions of amounts, is reading regularly and has even tried teaching his Mum multiplication column method at home! Well done Ethan!
There is Mathletics and Spag online to do at home.
Have a great weekend!
