Hello Everyone,
it’s Friday again, doesn’t time fly when you are busy learning! The children have had a busy week. Our PSHE lessons have gone well, I am sure the children have come home talking about what they have learnt. They have been very sensible and grown up about using appropriate terms for the parts of the body – well done!
The children have new spellings this week which can be found on the spelling page.
The children continue to enjoy listening to and reading aloud from the book “Who Let The Gods Out?” They have started to research modern day Greek food today. They will compile a menu of Greek food and in the next few weeks they will design and make Greek food as a welcome home for Odysseus from The Trojan War!
We have accessed “Mathletics” in our IT lessons this week. The children continue to learn all about “Shape” in maths.
For our science lessons the children have learnt all about thermal conductors. They designed and tested linings for a new lunch box to keep their sandwiches cool.
A huge well done to Kory for being awarded the “Golden Certificate” this week. He has a super attitude to his learning and has helped the younger children with their games during play-times. There is still time for the children to gain more quiz certificates before the end of term – so come on folks – keeeeeeep reading!
Not long to go now, but we have such a lot to do. We are all sending our thoughts to Year 6 at Arthog – hopefully they will have a great weekend and the weather will hold, cool and sunny.
Have a great weekend, Mrs P, Mrs Brunyard and Ms Nicholas.
