Hazel Weekly News 19.4.24

What a busy week!  The children are enjoying our class text and learning about life in Tudor times, through the characters.  We have now been introduced to Aunt Carew – and we have decided we wouldn’t want her as any of our aunts.  The children have written their own setting descriptions for the text, using similes, list sentences and some ambitious vocabulary.  Well done Hazel Class!  In math we are just starting our new topic on money, so any practice counting money and giving change will be helpful over the next couple of weeks.  We have been learning about healthy diets and how to read food labels.  We have also recorded our favourite meals and looked at their nutritional values.

Enjoy the weekend and remember read, read, read!

Hazel News 1.3.24

This week we have been busy planning and writing news paper reports about event in our class text.  The children will be bringing a copy home to share with you next week! Everyone has enjoyed our work on fractions and has worked extremely hard to understand denominators and numerators.  In science we are learning aboout the different types of rocks and how they are formed.

Next week is World Book Day.  On Thursday 7th March the children can come dressed as a character from their favourite book and we will be doing related activities all day.

Some great news- Hazel class has three more swimming sessions, so we will be swimming each Friday until the end of term!

Enjoy the weekend!
