 What a week it has been! The children seem very happy about the news of schools returning – with lots of smiles on our Teams meetings.

 This week we have started our new English topic on Poetry looking at the poet John Lyons and in Maths we have begun looking at time. Please find below the timetable for next week:

Hello everyone,

We have made it to half term! Can I say a huge thank you for all your support this term with remote learning. It has been a strange time and we are missing all the children, but it has been wonderful to speak to them on Teams and to hear about all the work they have been completing.

As it is half term next week, there will be no spellings or timetable of learning. All the children have been working so hard during this difficult time and it is important that they give themselves (and you!) a much needed break.

We will be resuming our Teams meeting on the first week back, so I look forward to speaking to you all then. The timetable for the week beginning Monday 22^nd of February will be posted on the website next Friday.

Hello everyone,

We are half way through what is a very strange half term! Although we are not able to see you all, it has been lovely having the opportunity to catch up with you using Teams and email.

Thank you for your patients with our Teams chats this week, hopefully we are all set up and running now! If you have not had a notification about this please let me know. We are required to keep in contact with you and your child at least once a week to check on the progress the children are making. I will email or call anyone who does not attend a video chat, just to keep in touch.

Firstly, a huge thank you for all of your efforts at home, it has been lovely to see all the hard work that has been completed over these last couple of weeks.

Good afternoon,  

I hope you managed to have an enjoyable Christmas and New Year.  

Although it has not been the start to the to 2021 as we would have liked, I have been so impressed with how many of you have been on the website and accessed our weekly overview and completed the lessons.  

Each week, in this post, I will put the link in for next week’s online learning. Here is the link for this week: 

Week 2 – 11.1.21 – Sycamore

As you can see there are 3 sessions a day, one math, one English and another.  

Alongside this, here are the weekly spellings we would be doing in class:  

Spellings – 08.1.21

As usual, each week, we would like the children to practise times tables and be reading daily. There is also Mathletics which the children can access from home. 

Hopefully, fingers crossed, you should have had an invite for a Sycamore Class Group A, Group B or Group C TEAMS meeting. I have split the class into three groups so that there are not too many on video at the same time. We have also had to timetable these across the whole school so that our internet has more chance of coping! This will be an opportunity for the children to see each other and to share what they have been up to, it’ll be a bit like when we have TEAMS assemblies in school so they will know the process well!
